A wet race, part of the Dutch Recumbent Competition. I felt reasonably quick after a week of flu. I really dislike the combination bike-rain, that's why I have a velomobile as well. Anyway, it was a nice race on a long track, on the edge of Zwolle.
I finished 11th out of 25 with an average speed of 37.6kph. My bike is a Nazca Fuego, the camera is a Drift X170
You were flying Peter.
Were the velomobiles off the front?
It looked like a great course. A mixture of road a cycle path.

at 1m30s it looks like you race against a rowing bike. What sort of average speed would that get compared to a bicycle? (with the same rider)?

That's a tough question. My guess is that a rowing bike is slightly, a few percent, slower than a 'normal' recumbent with a similar geometry. It does give a full body work out and the feeling in between the strokes is great.
He rode a 'Thys 209'
