I hope scamming will be allowed (but maybe some kind of ingame court with ellected judges that can give fines etc to discourage the act of scamming :D). Scamming has always been part of the economy... EVE online one of the best online games (with the most intelligent players :P) doesn't disapprove scamming for example.

Dare I also mention that there is no "effective" method to making money. Not even buying it is very effective.

I'm not at a disadvantage making around 500 silver a day from killing crickets alone. Hell the people around me are better at the game then me, and don't even have swords or anything and they haven't complained about money making.

A "settlement" doesn't mean I have buildings or anything that requires nails, nor does it imply I have nails, thats just how you interpret the meaning of settlement. I bought silver and expanded my plot of land, built things on it, that is what my settlement is.

Searching old logs and stumps isn't a very effective way, nor is dried hides, the game is built to spend money on and if you don't your at a huge disadvantage.

I loved this game in beta, but i hate the people who play it, i just hope some day they make it offline so we can play in lan with friends only =)

You said you had "Quite a big settlement" a big settlement in terms of Salem would imply that you can make nails. You never needed to spend money to get nails. You can search old logs and stumps for dried hides, and silver.
