http://www.SavvyBusinessMom.com Yesterday, Dec 2, 2009, My truck engine caught on fire as I as pulling up to our community gate. I had picked my 3 kids up from school when I saw the smoke. I figured what ever it was, I have my husband check it when we get home. I sent my daughter to go get him as I approached the gate and he saw the flames as he approached the truck.
By the time I new what was happening, he'd already snatched the boys out of the back. Within 10mins the windows were busted out, the new tires we installed on black Friday were popped and the kids library books and bookbags (with home work) were melted.
Fortunately, no one was harmed.
One of my first thoughts was that I was glad w at least made it home before the engine dies and burst into flames! Yesterday it snowed so waiting for help at the side of the highway would not have been comfortable.
Another thought I had as I watched the flames consume the truck was, "I'm grateful for the fact that I work from home". I just imagined what I would have had to do to bum a ride or pay for a taxi to a job that probably wasn't worth the extra trouble and expense.
So, the car... er, truck shopping begins for me this weekend! And stay tuned for my "Firetruck sale" by joining my VIP mailing list here: http://www.SavvyBusinessMom.com
