@gernoonan19 how about for cockatiels?
-
@TraderMags put the harness into the cage and just leave it there untill she she gets used to it and when she is out sitting on you, put the harness next to her and play with the harness, put the harness in your mouth and play pull with your bird and the harness, everytime she touchs or plays with the harness give her attention and praise, if you give her treats give them next to the harness, the whole thing here is to let her see that the harness is her friend, this may take a few weks

I've been trying and trying with my eclectus since she was two months old, and no matter how gentle I am and whatever treats I use, she is traumatized and terrified of being strapped in the harness. I was the first human to hold her, and she hasn't been abused during her seven months of life. I love her very much and I'm going to have to take her on a sailboat with me for a few weeks. I need to figure out how to get her into the harness without upsetting her so! anyone have suggestions?
