The reasoning offered here as to why humans should not listen to music is just laughable! Especially since music IS that which sets humans above all other animals -- as opposed to sex and eating. It's no wonder that Muslims seem so universally devoid of joy -- because afterall, if something makes you smile, then it must be haram!! Then to go on and on about the "intellectual" soul -- if that's so important in Islam, why are the populations of most Muslim countries so grossly under-educated?
