What's a drape?

A Drape is a Drape Jacket or Drape Coat - the long jacket often trimmed with velvet which Teddy Boys used to wear (and still do in some cases). The style was based on the long Jackets worn in the Edwardian era. Teddy Boy - noun Brit. (in the 1950s) a young man of a subculture characterized by a style of dress based on Edwardian fashion origin from Teddy, pet form of the given name Edward (with reference to Edward VII's reign).
