how much is control?

cool lights, i guess they are super bright led's? i am tryn to flash just 2 incandecant 10 watt 6 v lamps from radio shack. I have a 555 timer connected as an astable to a 4017 decade counter, thats workn fine, I picked up a couple MOSFETS from radio shack but cant get em to work so Im goin with reed relays, switching isnt that fast I paralelled two sets of times outputs for the reed and it works fine, what did I do wrong with the FET's? My hands EMF triggered it.
