How can you tell a happy elephant when you see one? Dusting themselves. Protectiveness of trunk. Playing tug of war. Tool Use. Thumping ground in frustration. Competition for food. Retrieving objects by blowing. This is Part 4 of 16 segments of an elephant research film taking place in the Detroit Zoo and, mostly, in three logging camps in the Burmese jungle. Overall, the film focuses on the daily lives, logging, behavior, and cognition of Asian elephants.
