  • You people that are preaching about Elvis are so ignorant. Do you even know who Arthur Crudup is? He was the man that Elvis stole his music from.Crudup died after years of fighting for royalties that were rightfully his. The King of Rock and Roll is Little Richard, not Elvis. I don't care how many records he sold. I guess you guys think Justin Bieber made the best music video-it has the most views. Take time to learn about real music. If you say Elvis is it just proves you have no clue.

  • “The colored folks been singing it and playing it just like I’m doin’ now, man for more years than I know. They played it like that in the shanties and in their jukee joints, and nobody paid it no mind ’til I goosed it up. I got it from them. Down in Tupelo, Mississippi, I used to hear old Arthur Crudup bang his box the way I do now, and I said if I ever got to the place where I could feel like old Arthur felt, I’d be a music man like nobody ever saw.” ELVIS PRESLEY

  • This man was a genius. But he had the great misfortune to be born a black man in America. So when his genius was discovered the white man came along and stole it. Popular music, from Elvis, through white boy blues to modern RnB owe so much to men like this but who has ever heard of Arthur Crudup? World, you should be ashamed.

  • I really respect this guy. I´m a huge Elvis fan and one of my most favourite songs are That´s alright mama. I appreciate the fact that he wrote the song, a song that Elvis turned into a smash and I appreciate the fact that Elvis picked that´s alright and made us discover this truly great blues songwriter..Rest in pease mr Crudup.
