Fan loyalty? They(AFI) betrayed us(the old fans).

@HGUFNH Can't expect fan loyalty when the band wasn't loyal to fans.

16,000 views... really?

It's kind of hard to hear the Bass, I've got to close my eyes & try N find it.
& it sounds like hunter is really going hard, slapping tha bass at some points, Ithink.

right right right, I blame corporate pressure...but they still release great music. It's all b-sides now though.

I love how the two top comments completely contradict each other.

Change is good as long as you keep the creative spark you had when you first started. That's where I think they've failed with their new stuff. I enjoyed Sing the Sorrow, but once DU hit you could tell something was off. I remember reading a Rolling Stone review and the writer said "something is amiss in the land of AFI". Crash Love is like that too. They've lost something and it's so obvious which is why older fans aren't responding well. Well that's my opinion at least.

@HGUFNH Yeah but if you don't like the music they are doing right now, you don't have to pretend you like it just because you are a fan. But it's true that's all these comments about how they changed get fucking repetitive and boring.

@Kajidourden You can't just say their old stuff was "better". While I prefer it as well it's ignorant to think that everyone else shares the opinion. I like to think of their recent ventures as different or experimental, not worse. People change a lot over the course of 10-years, you can't expect their music not to portray that.

i can't believe this album is already more than 10 years old it seems like i bought this CD. just yesterday.
Perhaps the term "old AFI" should be banned from being said in these comments. Because all the term seems to inspire is bitching and moaning about how much they've changed. So much for fan loyalty.
