The Speccy2010 is a new ZX Spectrum clone being produced in the Ukraine. As the first person outside of Ukraine and Russia to get my hands on one, I give it the ceremonial unboxing treatment and take it for a first spin.

Complete writeup of how to get one and set it up: http://matt.west.co.tt/spectrum/speccy2010/

The forum thread where you can order one for yourself (Russian language, but decipherable with Google Translate...): http://zx.pk.ru/showthread.php?t=12835

  • No offence but why would you spend all that cash when you can play speccy classics on a genuine machine and enjoy waiting for it to load..I have over 900 games on tape and would never in a million years trade them in for that garbage...Like i say no offence mate just don't see the point!

  • @azshaw123 No offence taken :-) It all depends what you want out of your Speccy experience - if all you want is to play the games in the most authentic way possible, then yes, this would be a waste of money. But for me, I'm using it for programming, playing live music, trying out Russian disk-only software, taking it to events, all kinds of things. If you were into skiing, or archery, or console gaming, you'd easily be spending £100s a year on kit, so I have no problem paying that for my hobby!
