My 2nd tutorial video! This is for bagpipers who have already learned how to play the practice chanter and are beginning the highland bagpipes.
I am not a certified bagpipe instructor, but I am a music student in university. I have been teaching private and group lessons since about 2005.
A couple things I didn't mention in the video:
-"Striking-up" the bagpipes is also called an "attack"
-The attack is accompanied by snare drum rolls when playing in a band. The rolls are on beats 1 and 5, and they last for two beats each.
-B.P.M. stands for Beats Per Minute
-The attack is different for different types of tunes. The attack in my video is only for marches.
Jenna, thanks for taking the time to demonstrate this, as a former piper now reteaching myself, this is a great video, thorough and well explained. I only hope I can pull it off as well as you explain before April lol. Thanks again, and to those that post your negativity, if it takes 10 mins or 10 hours, if you can do so much better, let's see it!

@jagnfl007 Thanks John! I'm glad you find it helpful. That comment about '10 minutes' is from a friend of mine, he's just pulling my leg.
Keep those pipes going!
