  • That was their conclusion? Wow, looks like that University is not teaching them much. You would have to have to do an actual experiment, retest and test it to obtain validity and reliability, and correctly conduct proper experimentation steps to obtain any sort of accurate analysis.

  • The Experiment was conducted by marketing students who only had one social psychology module.

Video was posted on line so that other individuals involved could see it a night before the presentation.

  • This experiment was poorly conducted. Here are a few mistakes:

    1. The position of each computer in relation to the subject was not consistant.

    2. The race and personal appearance of each tester was not consistant. Appearance is a key factor in determining the method of social interaction for people whether, this is realized or not, by the subject.

    3. I wish this video included audio because the method of verbal interaction is vital to maintaining a consistant experiment.

  • But even then, I think there are 4 other experiments that need to be tested:

    1. males asks female, has another male take place.

    2. Female asks male, has another female take place.

    3. Male asks male, has a male take place.

    4. Female asks female, has female take place.

It may not be a necessity to go so in depth, or maybe even further in depth than that. Such as the distance/position of either person.

  • I'll agree, they didn't seem to do much in way of controlling variables, and had a sample size waaay too small.

Talking vs not talking. Being nice vs being rude. mixing up the genders (and making note).

  • @koncron still, jumping to conclusions with n=5 is simply too much, no matter what discipline.

  • "Lets try to see how many people have the balls to say that this places has been taken" That is what the experiment is about. Not as interesting as you made it sound.

  • i think it also depends not only on who that person is, but also who asks, im sure it would be more accurate if you had situations for both ( as the 5 female and 5 male here ) where both males and females were asks to safegaurd

  • lol..you've gotta be kidding me

  • well the song is off a porn for sure...lol lol

  • fun study but explanation of experiment woulda been nice so i didnt have to figure out what it was about

  • great points.

  • Funny small experiment, but ofcourse there are factors that you didn't take into account, was it a male/female asking a male/female to watch their stuff? How attractive was the male/female and not to forget racial issues. But I bet you already knew this, with a total of 10 subjects. Still fun to see though, don't understand why almost nobody reacts, kinda weird.

  • I admit my comment could have been more constructive. I would understand your point better though if it was never to bash a university like that regardless of the typo.

But the typo i sincerely don't regret.
