  • Most of this video was overdramatic IMO, Altoona looked like anytown USA back in the 50s. There are only a few parts that looked legitimately bad. The message to not think about the past and look to the future does hold true, but I look at this more as a warning that small problems could become big if ignored, which they have in the past 50-60 years.

  • I live on 18th street in Downtown Altoona and i have yet found the slums they mentioned, true the houses there as in the majority of altoona, are in dire need of repairs or just moderenization, but that gives altoona the feel that it was once a hard working coal and railroad town and is barely hanging on by the skin of their teeth it is nice to have a bright and fresh and pristine conditions these homes but these are all part of altoona's great history and should be honored.

  • maybe visitors could be droped in by helicopter

  • It's really sad that Altoona has actually gotten worse over time. This video has to be from around 62 or 63 and look at Altoona today... I moved away 10 years ago and can't say I miss the place. It will always be home to me but sad to see it getting worse....

  • "It's like a punch in the midriff!"
