Teachers in schools need to show their students recordings or videos of performances like this (or live performances if available) so that the recorder can be seen as what it truly is (a beautiful musical instrument that is) rather than just a stick that can makes noise...
Well, I'm not against piano accompaniment per se; I wasn't militating for original instruments. But the piano part could be played more in a manner of a harpsichord, using much less pedal, for example -- especially when performed in a parking garage, ha -- and clearly, accurately, etc.
I'm thoroughly impressed! I love the fact that he's playing in a basement, or parking garage to give the recorder that haunting reverb. Nevermind the fact that there's not a harpsichord playing instead of a piano. How many people do you know that own a harpsichord??? It's an angelic performance.

Fantastic!
I wish I had kept playing beyond 6th grade, I never knew the recorder could sound like this.
