Activate Your 8x8 IP Phone in Minutes-featuring the Polycom 335

Helen with 8x8 shows us how activate a new Polycom SoundPoint 335 IP phone with 8x8 Virtual Office phone service!

(This activation process also works on Polycom SoundPoint IP 550 and 670 phones as well as the 8x8 6755i phone.)

Let's get started:
My phone has arrived and I have all these elements that I need to put together.

I'm going to turn my phone around so you can see that there are four connecting points along the back.

I start by plugging my handset cord into the handset port.

Now, I'm going to take my power cord, which is connnected to some power, and plug it into the power jack.

Finally, I'm going to take the Ethernet cable and plug it into the LAN port.

And then I'll take the stand and just clip it on to the back.

Now you can see that my phone is going to reboot. Once it has restarted itself, we can activate it.

Ok, the phone has restarted and the word "Activate" has appeared on the screen. I will now refer to the email I received with my activation code. (Email comes from 8x8 Customer Support, Subject Line: 8x8 Equipment Shipped & Activation Codes)

I will press the softkey next to the word Activate and listen to the instructions.

Then I enter the activation code followed by the # key.

My phone will restart and I can start making calls!
