Tools of the Ninja, Bo Shuriken, Throwing

Bo-Shuriken. I up loaded a video of the Bo-Shuriken I created for www.ninedirections.com I had only a close up of the Shuriken hitting the target, here is a video of the movement behind the hit. I started with a 3 foot range than moved on to a 6 foot range.

i like how the release is about... 2 feet away from the tree... i would be impressed if you were further away from the tree

I would be impressed too, yet since they are not all in the same direction perfectly there is no point to stand further away. Until i get it right there is no point in going further.

Are you able to teach knife throwing? Would the technique be similar?

Throwing shuriken or a knife in Ninjutsu is simple. The form stays the same; the only variant is your release and where the item sits in the hand.

Note: the form stays the same, yet there are different forms to choose from.

If you wish to learn, my suggestion is learn the form and practice throwing as much as you can.

Damn right it didn’t I’m a ninja and that tree never new what hit it...granted lightning hit that tree many years before Ì got there so it hasn’t seen much. If I had pulled the lens of the camera back anther 30 feet you would see there is no top of that tree
