@marcygoosie There seems to be a misunderstaning here: I'm not subscribing to the "Sola Scriptura" heresies of the Protestant sects. I was telling someone that, although the Apostles did recieve Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament in the hand at the Last Supper, it is still the prefered form to recieve Christ kneeling and on the tongue.
@Killermuffin1 The word Bible is not in the Bible, neither is the Holy Trinity, and BTW what about the word the fundementalists would have us believe...The Rapture? Can't be found anywhere in the Bible. Jesus did NOT say a Memorial, rather He said" Do it in memory of me" , two different words, two different concepts.
Before u give ur "opinion" again, you should read what is a "memorial sacrifice" in the Old testament (Levitic). And then, you should ask yourself why are you saved if His sacrifice ended 2000 years ago.? You propably not even know what is a sacrifice. You think "killing" Jesus was "the Sacrifice" when the Truth is that A SACRIFICE is blood offered to God. That´s what Jesus is doing right now so you and I can still be saved 2000 years later
The rcc says "Christ...commanded that his bloody sacrifice on the Cross should be daily renewed by an unbloody sacrifice of his body and blood in the Mass under the simple elements of bread and wine." (The Catholic Encyclopedia, Vol. 10, Pg. 13, Article: "Mass, Sacrifice of"). Jesus never made such a command. If you'll check the references in Matthew 26 and I Corinthians 11, you'll see for yourself that the Lord's Supper is a MEMORIAL and a SHOWING of Christ's death until He comes again...
Cardinal Newman, in his book, "The Development of the Christian Religion," admits that ... "Temples, incense, oil lamps, votive offerings, holy water, holidays and season of devotions, processions, blessing of fields, sacerdotal vestments, the tonsure (of priests and monks and nuns), images ... are ALL of pagan origin..." (Page 359).
I imagine you have a problem with the Ark then, or David praying, kneeling, and sacrificing before it? Perhaps with Moses and the seraphim lifted high? Maybe you would also disagree with anyone who has "graven images" of their relatives on their walls? The Bible is full of symbolism, Christianity has been taught from it to the illiterate, your fundamental interpretation is so full of problems. Pax Christi, may your eyes be opened.

I'm sorry, your fallible interpretation is hindering your ability to answer questions. Try again next time, Pax Christi.
