In this video, we had just removed a big healthy one from our Cherry Tomato plant and discovered what it was. This worm is fond of the nightshade variety of plants, so they eat Tomoto leaves and fruit, as well as Tobacco and Potato leaves. I was close in guessing it was possibly a Lunar Moth, when instead it was a kin to it, that has the wings that resemble tree bark etc.

  • No, not related to Luna, but it is a sphinx moth. Orange, oblique abdominal spots. Yours is a tobacco worm, Manduca sexta.
