Can't the fire department do anything right!!! I think they parked that light rescue truck in the way to get the credit for another plane crash for their stats!

It's funny how they call it "Fuel Starvation". He fucking ran out of gas. I had a fuel starvation happen on my car one time.

Nature will sort out the dumb ones.

I'm not quite sure why the B747 I mentioned failed to t/o successfully. I guess 3 engine t/o must be an allowed procedure in the ops manual or else the pilots would not have tried it. But I can imagine how difficult it must be to perform, especially at initial t/o roll when rudder is not efficient and you have to depend on the nose wheel to hold a straight course against the uneven thrust. I think very few airlines would want to risk it and prefer to change the u/s engine first.

@shinco52 An unloaded 747 can easily take off with three engines. B747-400 maximum take off weight (MTOW) is 397,000kg (875,000lb). It's empty weight is just 179,000kg (393,000 lb). That's less than half the MTOW. With just enough fuel for the flight it will have no trouble with 25% less max thrust. Also, loaded 747s will usually simply continue on their trans-oceanic flight plans after losing 1 engine *during* takeoff. Obviously there was some other problem with the jet in your story.

@alan517815 Ignorant people who think all Americans are this stupid.....

Americans.....

Probably now a captain at some regional airline in the US.

how could he did not see this big box truck parked to side of the road and knowing before hand what would happens if he keep going on the take off roll who was piloting this 210 obama?
-
Why the fuck was the reporter laughing... if I was the pilot would I not only be so fucking pissed but also petrified when the trees started coming closer and closer and closer and then bam....
An fantastic specimen of idiocy. I fail to comprehend how one can put themselves into such a touchy situation as attempting to takeoff from a street after mis-managing fuel to the point of landing on the street to begin with, only to completely fail to remove the most painfully obvious hazards from the situation. I'm sure if there was a rats nest of overhead powerlines that those would have been overlooked by this fool, too. What can one do but shake their head in disbelief.

Without those nice yellow centerlines on taxiways, how could you possibly know if your wings are clearing? Who goes for the takeoff roll being literally a few feet from obstacles anyway?! Unbelievable!
