Part I of THE MALTESE FALCON interview of mystery writer and Dashiell Hammett expert Joe Gores by fellow writer Mark Coggins. The interview was done as part of the NEA "Big Read" program at the Pleasanton Public Library.
The audio is very rough. It sounds like someone brought a video recorder to a lecture and recorded from their seat or the back of the hall. But it is interesting and worth straining your ears to hear if you are a fan of the book or the film or both. The guy doing the talking is Joe Gores who has written a prequel to "The Maltese Falcon" and seems to know quite a bit about both Hammett and Spade.
