2011 NYC DUMPLING FESTIVAL

This is the 3rd Annual Tang's Natural Dumpling Festival, which took place at Sara D. Roosevelt Park on Saturday, September 17, 2011 in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, NYC. Admission to this festival is free but attendees must purchase tickets to taste dumplings at each booth. Ticket holders will have the opportunity to sample an international selection of dumplings from cultures around the world, including offerings from Italy, China, Malaysia, Mexico, Poland, etc. This event also features cookbook signings from chefs such as Jaden Hair, Wai Hon Chu, etc. All proceeds from this festival went to the Food Bank of New York City.

This dumpling festival also featured the 8th Annual Chef One Dumpling Eating Contest in which participants must attempt to consume as many dumplings as they can in 2 minutes. This contest is separated into two challenges; one for men and another for women. Joseph Manchetti, claimed first prize with a total of 69 dumplings in 2 minutes. This is his seventh consecutive win. Flora Lee returned for a sixth win with a total of 37 dumplings in 2 minutes.
