After 9 weeks of training, most of it in rural villages in 90+ degree weather and LOTS of rain, Peace Corps trainees come to the capital area to be sworn in at the residence of the U.S. Ambassador. Dressed in outfits they had commissioned themselves, following the Mandinka tradition of asobi, they sat and chatted while waiting for the dignitaries, staff, and volunteers to arrive.
