* Both the Lotus T-580 Quad and the Extra 330 are from NitroPlanes who, although a Distributor, NOT a Manufacturer, made good on the Lotus Quad for me and now it is ready for some serious NightFlyying. Here are some Lighting tips and a shot of my Nitroplanes Extra 330 with a 1 bladed prop and Night lights.
Remember, the easier it is to see, the safer and more relaxed your Night Flights will be.
See the NitroPlanes links for T-580 Quad and Extra 330 below.

I've been using AfterDark Leds. They run right off the 11.1 volt lipos, so I just them tied into the Battery input line.

Hi Dave, do you have a vid/instructions on how you make the Extra 330 prop into a one bladed prop? Ie. after you cut the prop how'd you attach the weights? Fun idea, thanks!

Ive many vids on 1 bladed props on planes & helis which show many ways to do it.

In this case, I drilled a hole in the hub of the prop, threaded it, and screwed in a threaded rod with green Loctite. Then I put Amazing Goop over that. Then using small wheel collars, I put them so the prop balanced close statically. Then to fine tune it, I spin it dynamically, adding tape or moving the weights in and out til it doesn't vibrate. It takes time but performance is improved with easier turning prop.

Would 4 single blades work on your quad? Great video, glad to hear you got everything sorted. Thanks!

Check all servos and linkages are free from binding, and power up and flight test on the ground for 5 minutes or so just waggling the surfaces to make sure they're ok. [No control equals crash] Lube the engine with glow fuel - castor or synthetic and castor oil mix - and then see if it will start. Remove the glowplug first and check it still works, it should glow orange or red. [No power equals forced landing] After that, I'd go flying! Get sim practice and take another flyer with you. Cheers!

i woulnt use the one propeller, you will consume the same power from the motor, but will not have the same thrust, so its not being efficient.

I enjoy your videos! I always watch them, interesting innovations/solutions you make!
