For more tutorials by the very best Elites and Veterans, check out DarkDemon's official Tutorial channel, here http://www.youtube.com/user/PivotGuides

This is my first tutorial in a series I'm going to do. So far, I have planned out at least Twelve, and probably more will follow.

Infected Mushroom - Franks
Infected Mushroom - Project 100

This is my first tutorial. It's pretty simple, and although it will not seem very impotent at first, it's actually essential to decent animation. This tutorial is about poses, and poses are the most fundamental impotent aspect of animation, far more important than smoothness or easing. Without poses, you don't even have movement! There's no point learning to ease when you don't even know which limbs should be moving where!

The next tutorial will be on easing. Unfortunately, its going to be painfully technical. But don't worry, once these first two are out of the way, I'll move on to more exciting and fun stuff! Don't worry, I have much install for you :D

  • @MrPtrk19

Dude, it's been 8 months... and yes, I know, I should have uploaded it way sooner. But the guy who won took forever to get around to helping me, and so I put it off. But recently I told him that I would upload it anyway once my tutorials were done if he didn't give me what I needed. So there, wait for my tutorials to finish -.-

  • has ur acc been hacked? theres some random guy sayin it has and tellin people to subscribe

  • @AJboy700

It was hacked... but I got it back. Vypeira is my backup youtube account :p.

  • Pivot 2 for win. I actually think Pivot 3 is more difficult than Pivot 2. I often make small mistakes when I edit frames, and in Pivot 2 you can 'undo' the mistakes by re-clicking the frame you edit. In Pivot 3 it automatically saves everything, which means that if you bump your hand or something you an make a big mess of your animation :p

Pivot 3 also lags terribly and is buggy, so yeah.. I like Pivot 2 C:

  • I think it'd be a cool idea if all the elites joined up to make a channel where we all make tutorials of what we do best. It would have a good range of ideas and it would be easier and quicker to make multiple tutorials. Just an idea.

  • @TheNLMovies

Ah, this is loss of inspiration. The best way to do this is to just force yourself to keep animating. Don't sit back and watch what you've already made on loop for ages, don't sit there and procrastinate. Just do it, and don't stop for any reason, and you will be amazing. xD

  • The timelapse ruined the whole thing., I can't even tell what you're doing...

  • why not just use onion skin

  • finally someone that can teach me to animate in pivot

  • 4:37 Ghost touchin' ass.

  • Shaking left leg :)

  • This is a very nice tutorial.

It was very instructive and it flowed very well and was fast paced. The run worked well in regular motion as well as slow motion (which is quite amazing to me. I usually have to speed everything up to make everything smooth). I will be using this technique in future animations

  • @OblivionFall That is very good advice. I made this one animation that to this day is unfinished because I lost my steam trying to make it the best it could be. Then one day, I felt overwhelmed by it all and I still haven't touched it for about 2 years. I would if I could, but it's now on an older computer and I'm not sure where it is.

Not watching it for forever is also great advice. I often do that and then forget where I left off. Maybe I was in the middle of walking or something.

    I'm sub'n
