Yes it is well known now that Nina suffered from bi-polar disorder. From what I can work out her live work was rarely the case of Nina playing her greatest hits. There could be a lot of improvisation, and this track highlights how powerful her performances could be. When she peaked, Nina was awesome. And her backing band really excell.

She was a black woman who had to deal with white people. She should have done more than yelled.

she was very private about it but yes she did have the bipolar disorder. this was revealed by her 2 biogrophers who were also close friends after she died.

I think she had bipolar disease. She yelled at the musicians and the audience and sang 2 songs and then got up and left! This was at the Village Gate in the 70's. Folk were lined up around the block to see her...
