My take on this low cost, yet high performance instrument.

  • ever run it through some distortion ?

  • @JosephMBoyer

I've been playing in a pretty loud reggae/funk band for a few years. I used to play through an Applause, then I bought a solid body electric Stagg uke. The Stagg's intonation was all messed up, so I started playing through my S-TEQ. I do play with distortion, especially on solos. I made a sound hole cover out of an old mousepad to bust the feedback

  • should i get an acoustic or an electric acoustic? im in a band and we are hoping to do some gigs soon and we are also recording an EP.. so i don't know if it would be worth it to get the electric since its more? i don't wanna spend more than $200

Spend the extra cash. If you are gigging with a full band, you don't want to mess around with miking your uke. If you don't want to spend money on an amp, just use a direct box and go straight through the PA.

  • I agree...I like it. The sound is good unplugged or plugged in. You do it justice playing it too! Awesome!!!! =)

  • another comment,

it seems that your pickup is at the complete bottom of the uke? in other vidoes it seems to be on the bottom? weird?

  • lol it really puts out... thats how I like my ukes

    ;)

  • @archivestereo

Its possible that yours came with nygluts, but mine came with GHS. It had the GHS brand tag attached to the uke and everything. Recently I restrung the uke with nygluts, because I don't like the wound C. Sounds much better now!
