Galactic Journeys is a new series of videos that I'm creating to explore the wonders contained within an educational astronomy package, MPL3D Solar System ( version 1.1 ). In Episode 2 we go for run around the block in the neighbourhood of our solar system. We start at the Sun and then switch to a "Gallery View" that shows all the planets in the solar system laid out next to each other. All star systems within the simulation can be viewed in this way. We then switch to the normal view and work our way from Mercury to Jupiter - stopping by each moon a planet has in orbit, the asteroid belt and Halley's Comet. Saturn to Pluto is featured in Part II. Planets are subtitled with white text and their moons are subtitled with orange text. To find out more about MPL3D Solar System, go to: http://www.mpl3d.com/ and go to their products section. By the way, I'm not the author of that software. Video created using Corel VideoStudio X2.
