  • @qtronman I think you're confusing correlation with causality.

I see what Y's talking about, my older friends have been dating forever and never had kids but now they're 40 or 50 & it's too late. There can be short-sighted reasons for not having kids like Y's talking about; and long-term reasons like being a dedicated writer.

No one I've known who wound up with a kid b/c of their short-sightedness ever had another one unless they had child-support and welfare.

  • Perhaps long-term colonization

  • I find it funny that today's so-called Ashkenazim Jews who claim are claiming "Israel" falsely indeed are somehow claiming to fight against Islamic totalitarianism despite the mistreatsment they were victims of for centuries in that part of the world! How can you claim to fight for the "West" when they have rejected you and settled you a desert named in a fictional mythological book? I really feel sorry for Zionists sometimes!

  • Absoluttely, they are thinking long term for their survival and spread. They are also smart and work the system. They work for cash in industries that only pays in cash (to avoid taxes) and collect social security, public housing (large apartments and houses due to their many kids). The more kids they have the bigger their social security payment. Native Europeans only know how to work in tax-paying jobs and winge about how tough they have it. I am in Europe and know how it goes.

  • I agree with that, I've met Europeans who just want to get out of work as quickly as possible and drink wine.

  • No, i dont think he explained it well here, but ive heard him in other talks where he linked it tothat and nihilism, but for some reason he only slightly mentioned here.

The link is, they are nihilist, they dont think there is much of a future, why have kids?

  • Muslism in Europe *are* having lots of kids--is that, conversely, because they are thinking long-term? :-)

  • I found his explanation a little odd: Europeans don't want to have kids because they don't want to think long-term? Don't many poor people have lots of kids on the very same basis? Ayn Rand didn't want to have kids - I don't follow the logic. Kids are expensive; the more developed a country, the fewer kids people have...
