Well, I got a compilation CD of Peggy's over a year ago, not knowing what to expect. Of course I knew and loved the song 'Fever'.
But I realised that this was real classy music, and this song was the standout track for me, even though I was so familiar with hearing Paul McCarntney singing it!
So, I must say Thank You..!!

@CeeCeeable There are pictures in Peter Richmond's biography "Miss Peggy Lee" and several available out on the various auction sites (e-Bay,etc.) These are from the early '50's, when they first started seeing each other. She referred to him as "Roger" in her autobiography, which was written & published after Preston died but his wife was still alive. Check the Lee biography. He was a first-class womanizer.

@mmbr01rrf Thanks for the added info. I didn't know anything about that 10 year Peggy Lee had with Robert Preston..Would be pleased if I'd be able to see those pics of them.

@CeeCeeable Not sure if your were aware of this but another pertinent fact is that Miss Peggy Lee and Robert Preston (The Music Man) had an on & off again affair for about 10 years. From about '53 to '63 and then nothing for many years. They were planning to meet again just before he became ill but he called it off. It wasn't broadcast news but there are pics of them together & mentions in biographies.
The Beatles version was good, but this is THE one for me!! :))
