OK, so Redflex have possibly come up with a real game changer. Photo radar vans that cannot be detected before 300 feet, and that take your picture at 200 feet. Yes, that means 100 feet reaction time and slowing distance.

If your radar detector cost you less than $400 - time to change approach. Mark locations on a Cheetah GPS speed camera detector.

Important info for V1 users:
*****************************
This video is not meant to be a criticism of the V1 in any way. The point of the video is not to show how little warning the V1 gives for this new threat. Rather the point is to show that if a detector as good as the V1 only gets this much range, imagine how bad all the others must be!!!

The V1 is still one of the best out there and that's why we use it (every day!) In fact, this individual V1 unit is "famously" good on K Band. It was tested by GOL (www.GuysofLidar.com) and outperformed all others on K Band. You should consider it a "juiced" unit for K band performance. That's why we chose it for these test runs against this new K band threat.

80% of radar detectors on the US market do not even register an alert for these new camera vans until you are past them and have a ticket. This is a game changing radar camera system. It is completely different to the radar you encounter in police cruisers.

In this video, the V1 is mounted lower for ease of filming. We did have the V1 mounted high on lots of runs against this camera van system. It makes no difference whatsoever against this type of radar unit. One of the runs was shown in the vid at 3:08. The Video Thumbnail even shows it mounted high.

The point of showing the C100 in the same video is not to say it's better than the V1. It is a completely different type of product. We're not saying, "You should have the C100 instead of a V1." We're saying, "You should consider the C100 as well as your V1." The two units are designed to work together and complement each other; the V1 for blistering performance and arrows; the C100 for fixed camera alerts, marked locations, well known speed trap sites, false alarm suppression of the V1's false alarms, etc, etc.

The C100 does everything the V1 doesn't, and vice-versa.
Cheetah make a Radar Detector Interface for their GPS detector that plug into the V1 and make the two products work as one complete system, giving you the best of both worlds. In effect, you can "9500ix" your V1 If you don't know what this means, then you definitely need to contact us! :-)

  • hows it hold up in the heat?

  • @YourADrag - Fine - it holds up perfectly well - some folks in AZ have been using them for three years. The same advice goes for all electronics - just don't leave them melting on your dash all day in a parked car in full AZ sunlight.

  • @YourADrag Please note that this C100 model is being discontinued. Go with the C50 model instead - its a better detector with more features and less expensive.

  • how does the v1 not pick it up? ive seen a v1 pick up a radar from about 1000 feet.

  • @HowsTheHonda - because it is a very weak radar signal. It's a different kind of radar to what you would usually encounter from a normal police cruiser, or hand held radar gun.

  • Hope you guys are able to get rid of this crap. One reason I'm happy to live in texas, the state senators themselves would shoot any they saw here.

  • Unfortunately, many states and local municipalities set speed limits artificially low and generate revenue with speed traps. A radar detector is only one tool to help avoid costly tickets even if only going five over the limit.

  • Mount the Valentine vertically rather than horizontally and the ramp-up range will increase!

  • @ashton2gangsta It works extremely well against police cars. Has the arrows and everything. I sold mine after i got a motorcycle and now im back in a car again and decided to go with the Escort Redline. They both perform well and have saved me countless times from a ticket.

  • i have a cobra i was thinking about the v1....how well does it work with police cars?

  • your radar detector is too low on the windshiled, you would get better results if you put it on the highest point of your windsheild

  • @HowsTheHonda This Photo car is using k band, short range radar that you will see in the city. The radar your talking about is Ka band which can reach very far. I have had my radar detector go off about two miles from where a cop was hiding. But that was in open country on a open highway, you have to account for radar bouncing off other cars and objects in the city
