Even though it looks like i tackled him for no reason, this actually turned out quite well given that he was flying over my head and beyond the pads. We fixed that later, but he hasn't fallen since.

Hey, is that who I think it is? The law student that I used to climb with in C-Ville? You eventually did this route, right? But I'm glad you still got a spectacular fall in before you sent it. You're gonna have to teach me how to climb west coast style, see you at MC one of these days.

@czarny181 Yes, for this particular fall, it would have been ideal for him to be standing 1 or 2 feet back. The problem is that he was standing in the best possible place - I had fallen on that mantel move probably 10 times, each time coming straight down, and he was standing in the right position to spot me if I fell like that again. For some reason I fell way further out this time.

@SFbouldering Well i can agree that he jumped back to save ur ass - great job(here ur right). But he was standing way to much in the front. u suppossed to fall on ur legs and the spotter is just there to make sure u dont crash ur head. was a good reaction, of course, but next time: 1-2 steps back and it will be "safer" for the spotter:D

@czarny181 I'm the person climbing in the video and I can tell you that it was a great spot that absolutely saved me from a broken leg. I had been falling straight down, which he was in position to spot for, but this time I happened to pop way out and go over his head. Most spotters wouldn't have done a thing but he jumped up and caught me. If you've ever been on that problem or seen people on it you know that the mantel has a really big fall radius.

that was a crap sport as - i dont wanna fall on somebutts head.. i wanna fall on the matt and be just pushed back on the back so i dont crash my head - thats whats spotting about.. that was just great failure..
or.. u just ironic or sarcastic and i dont get it!:P
