It's our dependence on a limited resource, not just a foreign one, that's the problem

@Boljusz And Australians, and Canadians, and fill-in-your SECOND-favourite-country-to-ha
te... But you're QUITE right... oil depletion in our lifetime is QUITE well-known, and I'm just shocked that some people refuse to see it in the same way they refuse to see global warming... It WOULD be amusing to see people in the US freezing in their McMansions... ("but we have a three-car garage with a house attached - we NEED that oil!")
-
@danesaregreat I don't think people in the US should stop using oil immediately, but I DO think that using/developing other resources NOW, before oil runs out, makes sense...

god bless the usa god bless will smith and god bless usa independence day on the 3rd of july

Republican Jesus says: "Blessed are the Polluters for they shall receive tax subsidies."
-
We'll never have energy independence until the oil is all gone, that's just how it is!
-

What do you expect the rest of Americans ,265 Million people do?
The Green Liberals all want to dictate How and What we all should Eat,Ride,Live, and teach Our Children...Hey, I think you should live in China! They can just "kill off" the people if they want. Sounds like your kind of Plan! The"Silent Majority" have had enough of the "crazys" and will start making the Changes for this Country, just like always. The Grown Ups will Slap Down the Stupid green kids and take the Cool Aid away.

All the talk about the future is fine and dandy - but people eat every day, and for them to eat, they need food, every day, and for there to be food, every day, it requires irrigation to run, every day, and for irrigation to run, every day, requires millions of engines to run, every day. Like it or not, the vast majority of pumps run on diesel. The tractors, and delivery systems run on diesel. Won't change overnight, neither will our infrastructure. Not drilling will insure people starve.
