Some great in-car footage from the ex-Le Mans PK Sport 996 RSR lapping Donington. Driver is the very precise Phil Brough. This set of laps is cut unsatisfyingly short when, just as we are getting into our stride behind the Eurotech 997 RSR for what would have been a thrilling run, the session is red flagged with an off. Them's the breaks. Even on hard old slicks, this is a brilliant car. The resonance stalling the camcorder as the revs build through the runs shows that this is full on - this camera has never hung up like that before, so is taking some punishment. Wonderful!

  • wow - that sounds great. what lap times were you doing?

  • It's a track day Ben, we're not allowed to time laps. Was our first time out with the car, on hard tyres and old brakes too. Cheers, John

  • Stuck behind a GT?? I don't think so...... trouble keeping up was more like it, I went passed after catching you and left clear track until traffic. The cut/paste in your film doesn't show it, I remember cos I was the GT driver and I certainly don't recall you trying to pass me.

Please don't post inaccurate reports, fyi the brakes were shot, its on road tyres and there was a misfire at 5k!

Keep practising till you get down to a 1.10

  • Hi David, sorry you think I have been unfair, but I will put up the bit I had to drop out to get under the Youtube 10-minute limit - it is mostly the back of a black GT. We don't time laps, as Goldtrack do not allow it on their events, and we are only out to have fun and learn about the cars. Anyway, no offence intended, your car is very quick, we enjoyed ourselves and it was our first time out with the car, so will be faster next time. Hope to see you then. Best regards, John G

  • John - that's superb.

The RSR sounds fantastic and so flat in the corners...

  • Thanks mate! It is a beautiful machine, my buddy John is a very lucky guy. Next stop Silverstone this Saturday for some laps in one of our other friends' new 964RS! Cheers and see you soon, JG
