This guy is an IDIOT! Smug, know-it-all that doesn't actually know anything. Apple copies everyone, but always claim it's their invention. Swipe to unlock is not an Apple invention. A rectangle with rounded edges is not an Apple invention. This could only happen in America, the rest of the world has pretty much dismissed Apple's claims.

Alessandro Volta should be suing apple for stealing his original idea and implementing it into their devices.

I said 'pretty much', meaning not all countries. Germany has a patent law that allows the 'look' of something to be patented. It's ridiculous that Apple can patent a shape and 'look' of something that has been in the public domain for a long time. I had a Casio Cassiopeia E-10, WindowsCE touchscreen device in the mid 90's, which was basically a flat touch screen and silver effect bezel. Apple did not invent oblong shaped, flat, touch screen devices, and they don't deserve a patent for them.

So the recent verdict in Germany did not happen?
