This is part 2 of footage my brother took on his mobile phone at 3:20pm 22/09/2009
Dust storm in Broken Hill NSW Australia
We were driving down Williams street, got the the Mulga Hill Tavern and noticed the dust storm was getting darker, by the time we got to the next corner we were in complete darkness!
The camera on his phone was showing the road clearer than we could see it ourselves. VERY VERY SCARY

  • VOICE in video references "high-beam" as making visibility worse, quite right!

In these conditions one uses low-beam headlights, OR front fog lamps alone (along with parkers/sidelights as required), at reduced speed.

The latter method reduces reflected glare, AND allows the front indicators to be seen by other traffic much easier.

Vehicles REAR fog lamp, if fitted, should also be switched on when under such.

    * Carry a warning triangle in the car, and safety vest

  • man i remember that storm it changed coulers
