The second thunder reminds me of the sound effect from the film Predator (1987). When the Predator was firing his lazer canon like crazy hitting trees (After getting hit by a gernade)

Once while pulling into our garage during a thunderstorm I heard a earth shattering kaboom and my entire line of vision went completely white. My first thought was, oh oh, somebody pushed the red nuke em button and this was it.
It turned out that it was only our telephone pole right along side that got struck by lightening.
Chicago lightening at it's best.
