Ignacio Retana wasn't ready to give up playing and coaching soccer, but chronic hip pain was threatening his active lifestyle. A surgical procedure called hip resurfacing got him back on the pitch.

Hello there! I have had a very painful hip for over 5 years now and just a week ago, an x-ray revealed that the ball joint to my hip is rubbing against the bone in the socket. I have always been a sporty person and do miss going out jogging. Could you please advice me how you feel now, after the op and does it really alleviate any pain you were having before? Your comment will be most appreciated. Many thanks, Patrick.
