they just announced a new kingdom hearts for the 3DS. Me thinks this is the final spinoff before KH3 :) Plus the 10 year anniversary is coming up soon.

From what i gather from playing all of the games. That note that King Mickey gave to Sora at the end of KH2 was a letter explaining about Terra, Aqua and Ventus and that they need Sora's help. I assume that's going to be part of KH3 (whenever it comes out) that Sora has to go rescue Ventus, Terra, and Aqua and there is probably a bigger plot then just that.
