I call the lack of Bluetooth connectivity (I want a wireless full-sized keyboard!) for the HTC Hero being "Idiot Savant." It does some things really well, but can't tie it's shoelaces.
I called them about 6 months ago, and there was no Bluetooth keyboard for the HTC Hero... I'm not sure there is yet... and if not now, then when? Never?

you can now do it with the 2.1 update so u can do everything send music ect

Just got my hero yesterday, and wanted to transfer all my pictures from my old phone to my MAC then some of them to my hero. As you can tell, I didn't get very far. FUCK THIS SHIT!!!!!!!!!1

yeah its a travesty, also pissed about this, have you tried connecting to your Mac over Wi-Fi? means messing about with network settings but i should be doable.
