In November 2008, after 8 months of hard work, the Fairfield Railway opened her rails to the North West Area Group of the Association of 16mm Narrow Gauge Modellers for the very first time.
Despite the weather, a good number of people attended the event, and a great time was had by all.
After the Opening Ceremony, both Steam and Electric Locomotives graced the rails for a fun packed afternoon.
I hope you enjoy the video as much as I have enjoyed building the Fairfield Railway. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank a few people...
FR Thunderbolt, for asking me to builod the Fairfield Railway. This was a huge confidence boost at a very low point in my life.
PTLRsam for all the help and advice (and loan of tools) throughout the project. I dread to think how the railway would have turned out without your help!
PTLRcecil, for muckin' in and lending a spare pair of hands from time to time. There is only so much concrete one man can mix by hand!
and last but not least, FR Ros, for all the delicious meals and piping hot cups of coffee, that have kept me full of energy throughout the build!
Well done - but a big tune for a small railway.
