  • @G05Box not exactly. you need a router for the kit to connect to, as far as I understand. this makes it so you don't have to run ethernet cable from room to room physically to connect things. example: computer with modem and router in bedroom upstairs, console along with a blue ray/internet dvd player and tv in the living room downstairs. those work better off a wired rather than wireless connection and not all accept wireless yet. but that's just my interpretation based on what I read.

  • @JUDALATION true, but this works if the items aren't all in one place in the home and you don't have the place wired with ethernet outlet jacks in the wall and/or don't want to run 30ft of cable from room to room. though to connect all those the guy will need an ethernet switch or hub coming off that outlet in the next room where all those devices are. but still a good point
