@hitachi088 Takes way too long, too much bother and the effectiveness of overwriting with zeros is debated. Physical destruction = guaranteed and quick.

Why not just run DBAN then give the working pc's with the harddrive to Salvation Army or something like that?

@HybridPineapple The safest way is physical destruction. HD's are easy to buy now to replace with low cost.
