  • I recommend Albert Spalding's wonderfully written autobiography. I couldn't put it down although I have to admit the first half is stronger than the second. A generous decent man. I wish there were more of his orchestral performances on record.

  • My father, Giorgio Ciompi, knew Albert Spalding in the 1930's when they were both living in Florence. I was told many stories and their mutual families often spent time together. Many thanks for this rare recording.
