Cop Teaches Skateboarder the Fine Art of Hedge-diving

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP, WLTX) — The Charleston police officer seen on Internet video pushing a skateboarder over a bush at a city park has been suspended for ten days. Police Chief Greg Mullen says 49-year-old officer Willie Simmons used an unnecessary level of force. The 19-year-old skateboarder declined to file assault charges against Simmons.

@XmasterjamoX What nicks and bruises he may have gotten are irrelevant. It doesn't matter if she knocked him into a hedge or pulled out her club and clocked him. The point was the cop laid hands on someone where only a warning and a citation would have been called for. Her superiors agreed that she used an "unnecessary level of force", which is why she was suspended for 10 days.
