U will never get a rapper being honest and saying this, "I make too much money out of this shit to stop glorifying guns and objectifying women". No one is saying that hip-hop started it, but it IS part of the problem! If you have the discussion, you cannot deny this!

I think there DEF coulda been better rappers or better yet 'Hip-Hop' artists on the panel then Nelly,Mike Jones, and T.I. HOWEVER, at the end of the day BET selected the artists that they felt at ' that' period of time would 'draw' in the highest number of viewers that care or probably couldn't care less about the 'current state' of Hip-Hop pop-ular music. At the END of the day...BET should have never been made responsible of holding an important discussion of this magnitude.

@popedaniels yes they are! talking about mirrors, they reflect a lot of what mainstream listeners are also ignorant on....pride of a culture has overtaken moral judgement

@dubified89 be a woman any more because if she acts too much in a traditional feminine manner that may come naturally to her there's a stigma against that. She has to be a 'strong', i.e. masculine woman. As if our grandmothers were weak women. So the whole dynamic that's part of nature is fucked up and that's what breeds all this dysfunction. That's my theory
wu tang is for the kids- 120 radio clear channels are all owned by major record labels- not one plays any form of knowledge. WHY- cuz it wont make them money. If we want hip hop to change- stop buyin nonsense- and demand for real hip hop- start buyin KRS-One and wutang. people argue about how theyre being called ho's an pimps- well stop buyin that shit. LiL wayne didnt just get famous.YOU made him famous!-

the only reason the media put's all this heat on rap and hiphop artists is to get ur mind of whats really going on..
and hiphop will never die as long as ya support the mc's that speak the truth and try to wake us all up..
