HOW GRAND, HOW WELCOMED THE HOUR
BY JASON GOLDTRAP 11.6.11
Tune: Green Fields, by Lewis Edson and Johann Sebastian Bach
How grand, how welcomed the hour,
In worship I sing with the free;
God's truth and His comforting power,
Providing the sure victory;
Faith overcoming the world,
Green fields and blue skies ahead,
Gold pathways and gates made of pearl,
All fullness in Christ, living bread.
His Name, like richest perfume,
So pleasant the sound of His voice;
His spirit dispels all my gloom,
Compelling my heart to rejoice.
I should, when He is nearby,
Have nothing to wish for or fear;
No mortal is happy as I,
My summer lasts through the year.
Dear Lord, I am truly Thine,
Thou art my light and my song,
Thy power and nature divine
Bursts forth from my heart all day long.
Behold, the stars in the sky,
Declaring your glory, O Lord;
No sorrow, not fearing to die
God reigns, death holds me no more.
To see His wonderful face,
All treasure I gladly resign,
Confident in His grace
No tumult can challenge my mind:
I'm filled with the joy of His love,
I know that He soon will appear;
My home is in Heaven above,
With Jesus, I'll dwell with Him there.
Hey Jason, you have a really nice speaking voice. Your song sounds like the hymns of old that we are lacking these days. Good job. Darlene
