Newsnight's Culture Correspondent Stephen Smith looks at the case of Press TV. Press TV is a British television news channel that employs, among others, Tony Blair's sister-in-law and controversial MP George Galloway. It's owned by the government of Iran and it's currently under investigation by Ofcom (Britian's broadcast regulator) for allegedly biased coverage of the aftermath of the Iranian election. Part 2 is an interview feature.

On the contrary, the elections may well NOT have been fraudulent. Ahmedinijad has a strong voter base amongst the working classes (large in Iran, non-represented abroad) whereas the other person amongst the upper middles classes (small in Iran, large and vocal abroad). And considering that Ahmedinejad plays to the western bogeyman image (to the west and his own ill-educated voter base), he is the west's best friend anyway. These things I learnt from RT, infowars, not the corporate media.
