Your salesman charges for 11' 6" of cable for a 10ft 1/4" sling w/6t eyes. Those systems usually overestimate 8-10x the rope size already and if you use tails like that then take another 3" off and in a 10,000ft reel making shorter slings like that you probably end up with your system assigning a new reel number when there's still around 500ft left. That's how riggers learn to steal (rob) cable but if the manager has you doing it like that then no theft and an inventory count looks better on him

@2koreyr2 its a mechanical splice, but ive never seen his technique before.

@espn713 i do them all the time, a lot of the time without breaking down strands.

What shop do u work and where r y'all located..... I've never seen that splice and I've been to a few shops .....
