Both are influenced by the same protovisuals. It doesn't have to be a 'who copied who' scenario. That is left for children and teenagers desperate to be 'first' and seethe with self righteous indignation over perceived slights.

Lame to even state.

The music and visuals are breathtaking for Empire of the Sun, Fischerspooner, MGMT, Lady Gaga. Best to enjoy rather than to scorn. We could be forced to listen to yet another Disney Alumni.

True, not about who copied who. But back in 2000 i think it was when they released their first album, they also had a dvd available. The rather implicit theme it seems to me (considering their old concerts) is that they are a satire band, just jumping from one art joke to the next. Thus comparing who did what first might actually be somehow relevant. in my book they always win because they don't take themselves seriously.

*sighs* He is electric....I mean, I love these guys!!! It seems so long ago when I was just a sophomore in high school and came across one of their songs on an amv. How lucky was I?! Loved them ever since.
